University Education Should Be Free to Everyone, Regardless of Income. To What Extent Do You Agree or Disagree?
Higher education has an essential role in improving human life. In the developed countries, such as Europe and America, their economy has been based on knowledge. For this reason, citizens in those continents are able to obtain the living standard. Hence, it is advocated by some people to free any payment on higher education. Personally speaking, I find it hard to agree because improvement in education quality could be hard without funds.

Some people who recommend free education cite two reasons of their
suggestion. First and foremost, releasing students from any payment
could be lucrative for the poor families to access higher education and
open the door to better job opportunities. To illustrate, a person who
comes from the poor parents, but has potential in basic knowledge can
increase his knowledge and skills specifically. As a consequence, he can
lead a prosperous life for himself and his family. Secondly, a person
can break the poverty chain of their families with knowledge. It is
because they are able to improve their lives by getting well-paid jobs.
In contrast to the previous discussion, improvement in education
quality requires a lot of fund because building and any facility cannot
be provided without fund. Thus it is impossible to raise the quality of
university in the absence of money. Further more, releasing fee is
likely to effect income of lecturers. For instance, if a lecturer gets
wage from two resources, government budget and students’ payment,
releasing payment also decrease salary. Thence, his monthly budget can
be upset and his teaching quality can be dropped.
To
recapitulate, the idea of free payment on higher education has the
benefits for unlucky parent to access higher education. But in case of
the education quality, it is less appropriate. Therefore, I totally
disagree with the given suggestion.
